Dr Francis Knights is a Cambridge musicologist, editor and academic specializing in Renaissance and Baroque repertoire. His research interests include manuscript studies, performance practice, music analysis and organology. As an early keyboard performer, his most recent recital projects have included the complete Tudor keyboard repertoire, all of Bach's keyboard and organ works, and a 50-concert series of German Baroque and Classical keyboard music. He has published more than 60 articles, editions and books on keyboard repertoire, and has 25 years' experience teaching keyboard skills. www.francisknights.co.uk

Dr Nigel Yandell studied music at the University of York and completed doctoral work on 18th and early 19th century keyboard music in Russia at Wadham College, Oxford, where he was awarded a postgraduate scholarship. His research interests have since expanded into new areas, including aspects of European music publishing and historical performance practice.

An experienced solo artist and collaborative pianist, he has recorded, performed and lectured widely in the UK and Europe. He frequently works as a coach with professional singers and instrumentalists and has teaching experience across a wide range of disciplines. These include professional recital preparation and extended keyboard skills (such as orchestral/vocal score reading, transposition, classical improvisation, continuo playing, song accompaniment etc). He is a Director of the Stradivari Trust and an Affiliated Lecturer in the Faculty of Music (University of Cambridge), where he is responsible for leading the Advanced Keyboard Skills course.
